National Honor Society Lambda Pi Eta, Prepare to Mail Textbooks to Rwanda

 

Western New England College Communications students, all members of the communications national honor society Lambda Pi Eta, prepare to mail textbooks to Rwanda as part of the College's efforts to help the African nation continue to rebuild from one of the worst genocides the world had witnessed. The students began collecting textbooks from faculty and staff earlier this spring and have amassed nearly 1000. The students will mail the books to Universite Polytechnique De Byumba in Rwanda. They are writing a personal greeting on the inside of each one. In the photo at left, Julie Hogan, left, and Diedre Treanor, co-president's of the College's chapter of Lambda Pi Eta, sign textbooks before they are packed and shipped to Rwanda.
