Day of CaringNearly 50 Western New England College students participated in the annual United Way Day of Caring, Sept. 10. Students scraped paint at the Roberts Field Sports Complex at Holyoke High School. Due to rain the students couldn't paint the stadium, but they worked hard to prepare the structure for a much needed paint job. Kimberly E. Kralick, a senior participating in the volunteer project said, " Holyoke High School is the community next door with so much history and pride, that it was a pleasure to offer my time and contribute to what will ultimately be a big difference in the larger picture." The students were treated to a fun bus ride donated by Peter Pan Bus Lines for transportation to and from the volunteer work site. The community service project was sponsored by the United Way in partnership with the College's Office of Freshman and Transfer Students, Learning Beyond the Classroom, and the Office of College Relations and Community Outreach. |
