Conference Banquet at Basketball Hall of Fame
SPRINGFIELD, MA…The School of Engineering at Western
New England College hosted a dinner at the Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday,
April 17 as part of the 30th annual Northeast Bioengineering Conference.
The annual regional conference showcases the latest developments in biomedical
engineering. Researchers, scientists, and engineers from universities, industries,
and hospitals presented their latest work on a variety of biomedical engineering
topics at workshops on the College's main campus
during the conference on Saturday and Sunday. “This is an ideal time
for the annual conference to be located in Springfield as many economic
development efforts are taking shape in the region," said Dr. Steven
Schreiner, chair of the College’s Biomedical Engineering department.
"This Saturday evening networking event included three organizations
that are helping to drive the economic development: the Biomedical Engineering
Alliance and Consortium (BEACON), the Massachusetts Medical Device Industry
Council MassMEDIC), and the Bio Economic Technology Alliance (BETA) for
Western Massachusetts.”
