New England College Andrea Daley will begin her third season as the head women's swimming coach at Western New England College in 2004-05. Last year she guided the Golden Bears to one of its best seasons ever. The College captured its first ever Great Northeast Athletic Conference (GNAC) Championship crown and finished a respectable ninth among 21 teams at the New England Intercollegiate Swimming & Diving Association (NEISDA) Division II/III Championship. Western New England College also compiled a 7-4 mark in the dual meet portion of its schedule. Daley enjoyed a successful rookie season in 2002-03 directing the Golden Bears to an 11-3 record that was among the best marks in school history. WNEC also placed second at the GNAC Championship and 10th among 20 schools at the NEISDA Division II/III Championship. Daley, a native of Lowville, New York, served as an assistant coach with the Western New England College team for three seasons prior to being named head coach. She also coached swimming at both the high school and age group levels. Daley is a 1998 graduate of Springfield College where she earned her bachelor of science degree in exercise science. She received a master of education degree in health studies from SC in 2000. A former member of the SC women's swimming team, Daley was the MVP of the girls swimming team at Lowville High School and a record-holder in the 200 freestyle and individual medley events. Daley is an active member of the Masters Swim squad who recently competed in meets in Hawaii and Ohio. Former Western New England College swimming captain Lynn Schneeweis will serve as the assistant coach for the third year. |
