New England College Karl Enroth will enter his fourth season as the head coach of the Western New England College men's ice hockey team in 2004-05. He led the Golden Bears to a 9-13-3 record this past winter that was the squad's highest win total since 1999-2000 (11-12-2). WNEC had one of the most improved teams in the ECAC Northeast tying for ninth (with Ncihols) with a 4-9-3 mark, missing a spot in the conference playoffs by three points. Western New England College compield a 5-16-2 in 2002-03, ending its season on a positive note by winning two of its last four contests, including a 6-4 victory over Plymouth State College in the season finale. WNEC also claimed a 6-4 win over Framingham State College in a game played at the Springfield Civic Center. A native of Rochester, Massachusetts, Enroth served as the assistant men's ice hockey coach at Amherst College during the 1999-2000 season and was the Amherst assistant women's ice hockey coach during the 2000-01 campaign. He also has been a volunteer ice hockey coach and power skating instructor with the Amherst Hockey Association and other groups. Enroth is a 1985 graduate of Springfield College where he received a bachelor of science degree in Recreation with a minor in Business Administration. He earned a master of education degree in Sport Management from Springfield in 1998. While at Springfield, Enroth was a marketing and public relations intern at the American Hockey League during the 1997-98 school year. During the summer Enroth serves as the Director of Golf at the Goose River Golf Club in Rockport, Maine. He worked as an operations assistant at the 1999 Ryder Cup Golf Championship in Brookline.
